From Scratch Alfredo Sauce

Impress your family with this simple and delicious alfredo sauce. You wont buy it from a jar anymore, I promise!

Ingredients
  

  • .75 cups Melted Butter
  • 1.75 cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning Basil and Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 4 tsp Garlic, Minced or Finely Chopped
  • 2.5 cups Grana Padano or Parmegiano Romano or Parmesan Any mix of hard cheese, freshly grated, not the "cheese" in the shakers.

Method
 

  1. Melt butter on medium low heat
  2. Once butter starts bubbling and steaming, add garlic and spices. Mix until fragrant.
  3. Turn heat to low and add cream.
  4. Once cream begins to steam, add freshly grated cheese and mix well.
  5. Add salt and pepper and serve hot.

Notes

This sauce goes great with the obvious choice of pasta bring life to boring broccoli too!Pour it over broccoli and turn on the broiler on low and let it bubble and brown just a bit.
Troubleshooting:   If sauce it too thin, add more cheese and mix in on low heat. If it’s too thick, add a dash of cream and a pad of butter until desired consistency is reached.
Storage: This sauce gets THICK when it’s refrigerated and will reheat just fine to its saucey self. Add it to a sauce pot or place in an over safe dish in the toaster oven until warmed through.
